About Dale Hollow Lake
Welcome to beautiful Clay County, Tennessee
and the crystal clear Dale Hollow Lake. Clay County is located
just 97 miles northeast of Nashville, Tennessee within the
Scenic Highland rim on the Tennessee/Kentucky state line. Our
average annual temperature is 56.8 degrees with a southerly
prevailing wind. Clay County's seat is Celina, Tennessee. Celina
is strategically nested along the banks of both the Obey and the
Cumberland Rivers, which not only provides breath taking
scenery, but also a means of transportation to and from the area
by river.
Dale Hollow Lake is one of Tennessee's best waterways.
The beautiful blue water can only compliment our rich and ample forest,
which line the shore. Along our many shore lines, stretch miles of
walking and horse trails that any nature lover would appreciate.
Attractions on the lake include our American Bald Eagle Migration during
the winter months to our camping, fishing, swimming and boating from any
of our modern marinas.
All of our marinas cater to tourist as well as locals
in making their visit to Dale Hollow a pleasant and memorable
experience. Each of these marinas has houseboats, ski boats, and pontoon
boats for rent at competitive prices. So whether you rent our toys or
bring your own, there are many hours of entertainment awaiting your
entire family on
beautiful Dale Hollow Lake.
For the adventuress, Dale Hollow has along the banks,
hidden by the beautiful forest, lie numerous caves any adventuress is
bound to find intriguing to say the least.
Clay County offers some of the best fishing in
the world with the Obey providing great fly fishing expeditions,
the Cumberland providing great striper fishing, and Dale Hollow
Lake providing great bass (small mouth and large mouth),
walleye, crappie, blue gill, trout and catfish just to name a
few.
In the heart of Celina stands the second
oldest active Courthouse in Tennessee. The Courthouse was built
in 1872 by brick molded from the clay to which it stands. Celina
is located just seven miles down stream from the Dale Hollow Dam
and the National Fish Hatchery.
The ability of Clay County to supply ample
labor for industry is enhanced by a good rural road system with
improvements constantly being made. Our eager labor pool, our
accessibility to I-40 and I-65, the waterways, and the
geographic area are all positive factors that industry,
tourists, retirees, and all others searching for that little bit
of paradise should consider when looking for the perfect
location.
Clay County Tennessee has scenic beauty, an
eager workforce, a great rural road system, a major river
source, exceptional recreational facilities, teamwork within the
community, a positive and aggressive local government and a 21st
century school program to which no other rural area can compare.
So Remember: "Clay County
Tennessee is the only place to be."
